Product Description
An original British Army 1944 Pattern Jungle Bayonet Frog, dated 1946 and preserved in exceptional unissued condition.
Designed for use with the 1944 Pattern Web Equipment, the Jungle Bayonet Frog was developed for service in tropical and Far Eastern environments where lightweight, rot-resistant webbing equipment was required. The frog was intended to securely carry the standard British bayonet on the webbing set while allowing quick access when required.
This example is clearly dated 1946, placing it amongst the immediate post-war production period when large quantities of jungle equipment were manufactured for British and Commonwealth forces serving throughout the Far East, Malaya and other overseas stations.
The webbing remains clean and strong with excellent colour, crisp stitching and virtually no signs of use, making it a superb collector's example.
