Product Description
The King George V Half Penny, minted from 1911 to 1936, is a bronze coin featuring a left-facing portrait of King George V by Bertram Mackennal. The obverse inscription reads "GEORGIVS V DEI GRA: BRITT: OMN: REX FID: DEF: IND: IMP." The reverse, designed by Leonard Charles Wyon, depicts Britannia seated with a trident and shield, symbolizing British maritime strength. Measuring 25.4 mm in diameter and weighing 5.67 grams, this coin was used in everyday transactions during a period of significant historical events, including World War I and the early interwar years. It is highly valued by collectors.
