Product Description

Original inert German WWII 7.92×57mm Mauser cartridge with headstamp P490 xxw 16 40.

Manufactured in 1940, this cartridge was produced by Polte Armaturen- und Maschinenfabrik A.G., Werk Magdeburg, one of Germany's largest wartime ammunition manufacturers. The P490 code was assigned under the German military manufacturer's coding system used during the Second World War.

The cartridge features the xxw case material code and Lot 16 production marking. A genuine wartime example of Wehrmacht small arms ammunition and an excellent addition to any collection of German militaria, inert ammunition, or headstamp variations.

This round has been rendered completely inert and is sold strictly as a collectable display item
