Product Description
Original inert 7.92×57mm Mauser military cartridge with “PS” headstamp and 1948 production date. The PS factory code is associated with Považské Strojárne, one of the major post-war Czechoslovak ammunition manufacturers.
Produced in the immediate post-WW2 period, this cartridge represents continued Eastern Bloc use of the famous German-designed 7.92×57mm Mauser calibre. Following the war, Czechoslovakia continued manufacturing large quantities of 7.92mm ammunition for military service, export contracts and allied forces.
The 7.92×57mm cartridge remained widely used in Czech ZB machine guns, Mauser-pattern rifles and post-war military systems throughout Eastern Europe and the Middle East during the late 1940s. Czechoslovak ammunition from this era is highly collectible due to its connection with early Cold War military production and post-war European rearmament.
This inert example features classic military brass construction with clear PS factory markings and 1948 date stamp, making it an excellent addition to headstamp, Mauser and Cold War ammunition collections.
Ideal for collectors of:
- Czechoslovak militaria
- Post-WW2 ammunition
- Mauser cartridge collections
- Eastern Bloc military history
- Historic headstamp collections
A superb original post-war 7.92mm Mauser cartridge from one of Czechoslovakia’s most important military factories.
