Product Description
An original inert .303 British cartridge dated 1941, manufactured at the Hendon Ammunition Factory in South Australia. The “MH 41” headstamp identifies this round as wartime Australian production, supplying Commonwealth forces during the Second World War.
This cartridge is loaded to the standard Mark VII specification, the primary British and Commonwealth service round of the war. It features the characteristic spitzer (pointed) bullet design, which replaced earlier round-nosed ammunition and remained in service throughout both World Wars. Mk VII ammunition was widely used in Lee-Enfield rifles as well as Bren and Vickers machine guns.
Australian-made .303 rounds are increasingly sought after by collectors, particularly examples from Hendon, due to their association with Commonwealth forces and Pacific theatre supply. They are less commonly encountered in the UK market compared to British factory production, adding to their appeal.
