The Gordon Highlanders Regiment Officer's Cap Badge is a distinguished emblem of one of Scotland’s most renowned infantry regiments. Crafted in high-quality gilt metal with a silvered central motif, this badge exemplifies the pride and tradition of the regiment. The design features the figure of St. Andrew with his cross, surrounded by a wreath of thistle — Scotland’s national emblem — and topped with a finely detailed King’s or Queen’s Crown, depending on the era of issue.
This particular example is in excellent condition, retaining its original finish and fine detailing. The gilt remains bright and untarnished, and the intricate silvered detailing of St. Andrew and the wreath is crisp and well-defined, showcasing the high standard of officer-quality insignia. The reverse is complete with its original lugs or slider, firmly attached and functional, indicating careful preservation and minimal wear.
